I love a good estate sale! I went to two today near my house.
In addition to what's pictured I found two really cute metal folding chairs with a pretty curved detail. They are painted different colors but I know they'll look darling at one of my tables once I paint them to match. I also found one of the linen tape measures that I'll add to the shop.
I was a little bummed cause there was a great cabinet in the garage. It was a mess, dusty, dirty, paint spilled on it and the veneer was peeling off but it had potential. I left without it, I wanted to mull it over a bit and when I called to see if it was still there, you guessed it. It was gone. I always try to remind myself it wasn't meant to be but I still feel a little sad I didn't just scoop it up.
Here's what I did bring home. This mirror is beautiful. I plan to put it in our room (which is on the list to get a makeover soon). I love the detail around the edges, it's lovely.
This was in a little room off the garage. I couldn't believe someone didn't scoop it up! It was really inexpensive and the drawers work perfectly. The top has a couple scratches but I'm going to paint it anyway.
This was pretty dirty but I squirted it down with the hose and it looks great. I loved the peeling paint and the shade of gray.
I am going to paint this frame and discard the glass. I thought the wood piece was so unusual I love the detail. There was a second one that I really wanted but it was marked over twice as much as this one and I didn't want to spend that. I think I'll paint it too and use it as artwork.
I think everything but the tape measure I'm going to keep.
Have a wonderful weekend!
xo Susan

Great finds Susan! I've only been to a few estate sales in my area and have yet to find anything.
Happy weekend to you.

I would love to see how the little card catalog cabinet comes out painted. I have one that I am debating painting... I think mine would look better with paint but I don't want to regret doing it...
