When we bought our home we were thrilled to find that we had two perfectly placed pine trees. Perfect if you want to hang a hammock. I always loved the photos of the hammock out in the yard. A quiet place to swing, nap and read. Here is a peek at ours.
I covered it with a vintage coverlet I'd purchase some time ago. I layered on a quilt, two fluffy pillows in pretty vintage pillowcases my friend Carol gave me. I added an extra one I made just because. My estate sale find came in handy for some water, my favorite magazines and of course peonies.
The trees provide wonderful shade even in the bright sun. My favorite is when the five of us pile on it and spend a few mintues together swinging and laughing. Those are the moments when I stop and try to remember every tiny detail. The kids laughter, their bare feet, their smiles, the hugs and keep it in my memory for the day when we all don't fit.
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Ours was nice, just the right mix of work & play. I found this great piece at the Antique Market today. I've already got it painted just need some trim. I can't wait to share it with you.
Thank you for coming by, I really love reading your comments!

Um yeah - completely jealous. Our hammock is in the garage because of a lack of trees. Looks like your spot was meant to be!

That is the prettiest hammock I've ever seen. I'd love to hang out there, although I don't think I've ever tried to get in/on a hammock!! ;-)

I clicked over from Kim's this morning. Enjoying browsing your site. Absolutely love it. Clicked to join.
We have a hammock, with stand. Wish we had two trees. Thinking about hanging it on our deck at the lake. I like that look and between two trees much much better than on a stand.
Gorgeous photos!!

I want to take a nap there right now! I would love a hammock but we don't have any trees like that. Lucky! ;)

Ohhh...I adore hammocks, they remind me of simpler times. You are so wise to try and remember the little things that you mentioned, kids grow up so fast.
Your hammock is simply splendid, I would love to have one like that!

Did you ever measure between the two pine trees? I'm wondering if I have a spot for a hammock for my hubbie, for fathers day?
