I found this new site Olioboard, (you can follow my boards if you like). It's like Polyvore which I love. I was just testing it out to see how easy it is to work with. I managed to figure it out pretty quickly. Here is the board I put together For Fun. Need help with a room? You can find out more about my design services and purchase them through my Etsy shop here.
The kids are off and keeping me busy. I hope you are enjoying your week!

I had the pleasure of working with the super talented Marian of Miss Mustard Seed on a tour of her beautiful home for Houzz. If you get a minute to stop by and take a look I know you will enjoy her home!

I'm making progress on my chairs. Remember the ones I shared with you here? I found a pretty neutral velvet thanks to my friend Carol. It was a bargain at $12/yard. I've got one chair done you can see my Instagram photo of it here. The other has been painted with one coat. I'm hoping to finish tomorrow! I was going to buy the rug from PB but turns out they didn't have the one I wanted in the border color I liked so back to the drawing board there.
I ordered the WUSLU deal of the day yesterday. I usually go look but I've never ordered from them before. I really like the lantern and knew it would be great in so many places!
Here are some of my favorite pins from this week.
My first Houzz Tour as a Contributor will be published tomorrow. I can't wait for you to see who's beautiful home it is!
I'll have the link as soon as it's live.
See you soon.

As many of you know I love magazines, especially the home & design ones. I was going through the new issue of Traditional Home and came across this photo.
It just so happens that I found two chairs very similar to the two pictured. Now I know they aren't quite as ornate and the fabric isn't great but the box cushions can be taken off without much trouble (thanks Carol!) and they were a steal at $140 for the pair.
My plan is to paint them a soft white and reupholster the cushions in a natural linen. One side of the living room has been empty for quite some time. I've been looking for pieces but don't want to break the bank to redo it.
Here is the board I pulled together for the space.
My two chairs are top left. I have a drop leaf table for behind the chairs. I added this one because I love the styling ideas. A rug for the area in a modern chevron, fabric for my chairs and my "wish list" small scale sofa from PB that would complete the space.
Have a great day, be back tomorrow with my menu!

I've been wanting to try some rustic, vintage inspired wedding goods in the shop for quite awhile. I finally found some time over the Holidays to work on a few new designs.
I love burlap so I thought I'd try some ring bearer pillows in it. I also knew I wanted to incorporate something totally different so I added a big tulle flower to one of them.
I also changed up the shape on one too.
I made a coordinating flower girl basket for each. I used wire baskets for something completely out of the box. I really like the way they turned out. Hopefully some bride to be will too :)
Well I'm going to keep plugging along and really dedicate my time to the shops. I also added some other new things to both shops. Some silver plate bowls, ironstone and some new fabric & laces.
The house was so quiet yesterday with the kids back to school. I have to get used to it all over again! Have a beautiful day and I'll see you soon.

I knew today was going to beautiful, in the 60's and sunny. Knowing these days are numbered I decided to create an outdoor table setting.
I didn't purchase anything new. I clipped boxwood from our yard and Super Dad stopped to cut the long fluffy things I'd seen while out earlier this week.
I used my signature sheet music place mats which I noticed have become quite popular since I first used them here.
I whipped up a new runner with some burlap and painter's cloth I had in my sewing room. Everything else was borrowed from around the house.
Did I mention that I nearly burned down the entire table setting? Yes, that's right. I had small candles next to the fluffy stuff in one of my smaller pitchers and lit one. In half a second the entire bunch of fluffy things was in flames. I heard my ironstone crack and I was certain the entire table was going to be lost. In a panic I reached for the nearby hose. I stood back for a minute hoping the fire would stop at the pitcher (since I really didn't want to douse the entire table). Thankfully it went out and I removed the pitcher and I was able to replace the centerpiece and finish the table! Even my pitcher was saved, Mr. Clean sponge took all the burned spots off and the crack appears to be minor.
Lesson here. Do not light candles near dry fluffy stuff.
Thank you all for coming by. My reader appreciation giveaway is sill open here.
See you soon
